John HalbigI would like to take this time to tell you a little about myself, my name is John Halbig, I am married with two young boys and we live, eat & breath the outdoors. Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed the land mother nature has provided us. My grandfather started me out fishing as a toddler and eventually turned me onto to one of my passions, flyfishing. Although I don’t really get out much anymore since he’s passed on, I will forever be grateful to him for passing on his love for nature, so I too can pass it on to my children. My passion now has turned more towards hunting, or should I say my obsession. I hunted small game with my dad & grandmother for years but no one in my family deer hunted. I have basically taught myself and learned all I know about deer hunting from reading, video and just getting out there with the animals. It’s amazing that after all these years, I am still learning about these animals. As my younger brother Tom grew up, I’ve had a special bond with him because of the outdoors. I have sat in treestands with him for many years, watching him harvest his first deer and learning with him about these beautiful animals. I would not trade one minute of that time with him for anything. Our love of the sport has turned into quite a journey for us in the last few years, we were lucky enough to be a part of a national t.v. show called “REDHAWK OUTDOORS”. Although it was a short experience, it was a valuable one. We now realize what it takes to be successful in the outdoor industry and we are doing our best to get back into it. We have met a lot of wonderful people in the industry and have the blessings of many and for that we are truly thankful. So hopefully you will see us on television again someday, and if not, I will still be enjoying the fruits of nature and sharing them with whoever will let me. Introduce somebody to the great outdoors if you get a chance, they’ll be thankful you did. |
