I grew up hunting puddle ducks on the salt marshes along south jersey.  my father has hunted ducks every weekend since high school, even on his wedding day he snuck in a few hours. I think I started following his foot steps in the marsh around 6 years old. A few of my life long friends have been hunting and trapping since they could walk and I was very much the same. Even though we didn't  have many deer back then, at 16 years old I started bow hunting. On my first trip out, I saw two does and then hunted 6 days a week for two months straight without seeing another deer, but I was hooked. There is no feeling in the world like seeing a deer make it's way closer to you, it never got old, and I hope it never does.
I have since gone through all the phases of deer hunting, trying to get as many as I could in a year, trying to get one with every weapon, putting a kid on his first deer, managing for quality deer on a large block of woods. Now I seem to have landed into the phase of teaching my own two daughters the joys of the outdoors. While doing that, I have gone into filming my hunts and for me it is just the next step of deer hunting. My wife is very supportive of my passions. When we were first married, I was hunting six days a week and fishing on Sundays. Then came the children and things changed a little, but for the better. I still get 80-90 days a season chasing deer and alot of them now spent with my own kids.
Besides hunting deer, I am a avid trapper, I try for a mixed bag of coyote, fox, raccoon and muskrats. I don't put up real big numbers, but just enough to fill some boards and enjoy the woods some more. The family enjoys coming along with me on the trap line as well, which is great for me as I can still be in the woods and make up for the time I spent away from them.
I, as well as both of my daughters are life members of the United Bowhunters of NJ, as well as a member of the NJ Fur Harvesters. I enjoy every minute I spend in the Outdoors and am glad to share it now with the DTOR family as well.
